In recent weeks rivers of students average and university committees of parents, teachers and researchers precarious invaded streets, roads, schools and colleges against the Law 133 and Decree 137 of the Minister Gelmini: two measures that aim to bury what little remains of Education and Culture public, cutting hundreds of thousands of jobs in teaching and non teaching staff, condemning an entire generation to a future of permanent insecurity and delivering a definitive universities in the greedy hands of businesses. This "tidal wave" is the largest movement of struggle in which the country has seen for years now, and can only continue to grow. For more than ten years of center-right and center-left governments have made the good and the bad weather, with generalized attacks on the welfare state, laws that have forced younger generations working conditions and study more and more precarious and humiliating, "reforms" that have diverted resources workers and students to deliver into the hands of the owners of the banks and Confindustria: those same parasites that with their greed for profits are leading to the collapse of the capitalist system, and still have the gall to claim that workers are the oppressed classes to pay the price of their crisis. The student movement has had enough of all this, with the sweeping radicalism of his slogans is a reactionary and fascist government, and avoiding the lure of fake opposition MPs, trade union barons concerted and academics, concerned only to preserve the privileges of caste acquired with the reforms of the center. This fight is not the only game in the future of the school and public education, but an entire model of society. The economic crisis leaves no room for compromise and mediation: If the student wins the fight, it will be an example for a new era of conflict throughout the world of work, against high prices and job insecurity, against the reactionary policies and of racist and right to recapture the social rights of those who in recent years governments have attacked and removed.
