Vorrei che questo Paese la smettesse di stupirsi se gli studenti prendo d’assedio (se così si può dire…) il Senato della Repubblica. Vorrei anche che questo Paese la smettesse categoricamente di essere ipocrita e, allargando un poco le palpebre, la smettesse di fare finta di non vedere. Vorrei che questa Italia malandata, presa a schiaffi dal profitto e dalle ricette antidemocratiche del governo, sapesse indignarsi e non condannare (come faranno domani i giornali della “buona intellettualità”, del buonismo democraticheggiante) quegli studenti che oggi con un po’ di foga hanno provato a forzare il portone del palazzo dove risiede l’Alta Camera.
Io sono convinto che i senatori comunisti di una volta sarebbero scesi in piazza a parlare con quei ragazzi. E lo avrebbero fatto con una assoluta condivisione delle loro ragioni, rimproverandogli magari un eccesso di zelo, ma assumendo completamente le loro richieste di tutela della scuola pubblica, di stop della controriforma Gelmini e di dietrofront su finanziamenti alle scuole private e on many, too many who continue to make concessions to private and religious schools.

E’ giusto che un governo fatto da un padrone e sorretto dai confindustriali si occupi dei gravami fiscali e quindi di sempre più ampie fette di profitto detassate e rivolga le correzioni di bilancio dello Stato verso i tagli alle spese sociali.
La scuola pubblica è una di queste sfortunate voci: caduta sotto la mannaia del governo imprenditoriale di Berlusconi, oggi percepisce dal genitore all’alunno, dal bidello all’insegnante tutta la potenza distruttiva delle “riforme” dell’esecutivo. Oggi che non ci sono più margini per mostrare che la coperta ancora qualcosa copre, oggi e solo oggi tutti si accorgono che l’unico rimedio è l’inversione della rotta e la riqualificazione del carattere pubblico della scuola e delle sue funzioni costituzionali.

L'S4 gestisce 4 canali a cui si possono associare nelle impostazioni sia i normali deck di Traktor, sia una fonte esterna (presenti diversi ingressi phono/line) o una nuova sampler station con 4 banchi . Su ogni canale abbiamo a disposizione l'equalizzazione, il gain e un filtro passa-alto/passa-basso sempre attivo. Troviamo inoltre un campionatore in grado di creare istantaneamente un loop in battuta sia dal segnale master, sia in preascolto in cuffia o anche da una fonte esterna, da sottolineare che la messa a tempo e la precisione della battuta sono effettivamente perfette. Ad ogni canale si possono poi assegnare una o entrambe le unità effetti che sono le medesime presenti nella versione di Traktor Pro con una manopola dry/wet e tre effetti attivabili in contemporanea editabili nei parametri: tutti i controlli necessari sono posti esattamente ai 2 lati del mixer sopra i controlli dei deck. La sezione del mixer offre ovviamente la funzione di preascolto e un potenziometro di controllo per l'uscita master (bilanciata), oltre ad un potenziometro e 2 pulsanti "load" per la navigazione del browser e il caricamento tracks on the decks.

Una pecca un po' vistosa è la mancanza di un'uscita booth, ma il Kontrol S4 in un ambiente professionale deve comunque preferibilmente passare tramite un mixer vero e proprio per dare più spinta al suono e per poter gestire adeguatamente il routing del segnale audio. Il volume e la qualità di uscita sono buone, ma ancora un po' troppo "digitali" e mediose, mentre risulta forse un po' bassa l'uscita della cuffia.
Da segnalare che essendo un prodotto bundle Native-Instruments software + controller è notevolmente migliorata la procedura di installazione e configurazione rispetto all'acquisto di un controller generico: il Kontrol S4 è forse il vero primo capostipite di una nuova generazione di consolle, offerta ad un prezzo concorrenziale rispetto agli altri controller professionali (Allen&Heath DX, Vestax vci300) ma che per essere sfruttata al massimo della potenzialità necessita di un computer performance.
